SCADA Systems Engineer - Renewables

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector , is actively seeking a skilled SCADA Systems Engineer to join their innovative team. This fully remote position involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for their diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation, monitoring, and control of these systems, contributing directly to the efficiency and performance of clean energy generation. Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling renewable energy assets (e.g., wind farms, solar plants).
• Develop and maintain HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens, alarms, and reporting functionalities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with site operations teams to gather requirements and provide technical support.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices for SCADA systems to protect critical infrastructure.
• Ensure system documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA systems engineering , preferably in the energy industry .
• Strong knowledge of SCADA protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA).
• Experience with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, Cimplicity).
• Familiarity with networking principles and cybersecurity concepts related to industrial control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
