In this varied role, you'll provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school, acting as a key point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors while delivering a professional and welcoming experience.

Position Details

Job Title: School Administrator Location: Whitley Bay Contract Type: Temporary Ongoing, term time only. Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour (depending on experience) Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities available. Part-time: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm

Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Term Time Only

An Enhanced DBS certificate is essential for this role and must either be current on the DBS Update Service or candidates must be willing to undergo a new Enhanced DBS check prior to commencement.

Key Responsibilities

As a School Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school. Acting as a key point of contact for staff, students, parents, and visitors, you'll deliver efficient administrative support within a busy and welcoming educational environment.

Your duties will include:

Providing a professional and friendly reception service, welcoming visitors and managing sign-in procedures.

Handling incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Supporting the wider school team with a range of administrative tasks and office duties.

Maintaining accurate pupil, staff, and school records using internal systems and databases.

Utilising Arbor confidently to update information, manage records, and support school administration processes.

Assisting with correspondence, filing, data entry, and document preparation.

Coordinating a variety of administrative activities while effectively prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.

Ensuring confidentiality is maintained when handling sensitive information.

Delivering a high standard of customer service to students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience using Arbor is essential Previous administration experience, ideally within a school or educational setting. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. A professional, flexible, and positive approach to work. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable.Why Join Us?
