We are currently recruiting a School Administrator for a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes, with an immediate start available. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to secure a long-term position within education, with the potential for a permanent appointment.
Role Overview
As a School Administrator, you will be an important part of the school's administrative team, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. You will regularly liaise with students, parents, staff, and visitors, acting as a professional and approachable first point of contact.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing reception and front office duties, including welcoming visitors and answering telephone enquiries.
- Responding to emails and general enquiries from parents, students, and staff.
- Maintaining accurate pupil records and supporting attendance administration.
- Completing data entry and updating school databases and management systems.
- Supporting admissions, transfers, correspondence, and general school administration.
- Preparing documents, letters, reports, and other school communications.
- Using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or similar platforms.
- Supporting meetings, appointments, timetables, and administrative arrangements.
- Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive pupil, family, and staff information.
- Supporting safeguarding procedures and following school policies and processes.Providing general administrative assistance to teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in an administrative or school office role.
- Secondary school experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, friendly, and confident when dealing with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, email, and administrative systems.
- Able to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy school environment.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within an educational setting.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one.
