Scientist - Analytical Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Scientist specializing in Analytical Development to enhance their pharmaceutical research and development capabilities in Nottingham . You will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods to support the characterization of drug substances and drug products. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of our client's pipeline assets. You will work closely with formulation scientists, process engineers, and quality control teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment dedicated to bringing innovative medicines to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate robust analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, KF, UV-Vis) for drug substance and drug product analysis.
• Perform stability studies and investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results.
• Characterize raw materials, intermediates, and final drug products according to established protocols.
• Transfer analytical methods to Quality Control (QC) and manufacturing departments.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, ICH).
• Author method validation reports, analytical development protocols, and contribute to regulatory filings.

Requirements

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in analytical method development within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong practical experience with HPLC, UPLC, GC, and other relevant analytical techniques.
• Good understanding of GMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements for analytical testing.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using relevant software (e.g., Empower).
• Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
