SENIOR THEATRE PRACTITIONER – SCRUB | MAIDSTONE 🚨
📍 Location: Maidstone, Kent
🕐 Hours: 40 hours per week | Permanent
📅 Working pattern: 4 days per week, Monday–Saturday, 07:30–18:00
💷 Salary: £36,267 – £48,000 per annum, depending on experience
SO Staffing are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner – Scrub to join a well-established private hospital theatre team in Maidstone.
Are you an experienced Scrub Practitioner looking to take the next step in your perioperative career?
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part within a multidisciplinary theatre team, providing excellent patient care while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
🔹 The Role
As a Senior Scrub Practitioner, you will:
• Act as Scrub Practitioner for general and orthopaedic procedures
• Lead and mentor junior members of the theatre team
• Deputise for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when required
• Help plan, organise and run operating lists
• Prepare operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery
• Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available
• Work closely with Sterile Services, Wards and Imaging
• Assess patient care needs and evaluate outcomes
• Maintain the highest standards of patient safety and clinical care
🔹 What we're looking for
Essential:
✅ Registered Nurse (RN) or ODP
✅ Strong experience working within Scrub
✅ Experience leading and managing surgical lists
✅ Experience planning, organising and running theatre lists
✅ Experience supervising theatre staff
Desirable:
⭐ Practice Supervisor/Assessor qualification
⭐ Surgical First Assistant qualification
⭐ Perioperative experience across Scrub and Anaesthetics
⭐ NHS or private acute hospital experience
