About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Secondary School Teacher specialising in Science to join a dedicated faculty at a well-regarded secondary school in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective science education across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop a keen interest in scientific principles and inquiry. This role involves planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the positive ethos of the school. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective science lessons across KS3 and KS4, catering to diverse learning styles.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils in science.
• Create a stimulating and safe learning environment that encourages active participation and scientific curiosity.
• Set high expectations for pupil behaviour and uphold the school's behaviour policy.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the science department and across the wider school to share best practices and resources.
• Contribute to extracurricular science activities and clubs to further engage students.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in Science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or a related field.
• Experience teaching science at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
