Location: Sunderland Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only Start Date: As soon as available Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours Pay: £31,650–£51,048 per annum / PAYE, dependent on experience and qualifications

Protocol Education are recruiting for a Secondary SEN Teacher to work within a specialist education setting in Sunderland.

This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working with secondary-aged pupils and wants to combine academic teaching with personal development and preparation for life beyond school.

The Role

You will:

Plan and deliver engaging secondary lessons Adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs Support pupils with a range of SEND Develop literacy, numeracy and wider life skills Encourage independence and confidence Manage classroom behaviour positively Monitor and assess pupil progress Work towards individual EHCP outcomes Build positive relationships with pupils Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a teacher who is:

Confident working with secondary-aged pupils Experienced in adapting lessons Passionate about SEND Calm, consistent and approachable Able to establish clear boundaries Committed to helping pupils achieve their potential Teachers with mainstream secondary experience who are looking to move into SEND are encouraged to apply.

QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification is required.
