About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Security Automation Engineer to join their technology team in Nottingham . This role is focused on enhancing security operations efficiency by automating repetitive tasks, streamlining workflows, and integrating various security tools. You will play a critical part in building and maintaining automated security solutions that improve response times and reduce manual effort, working within a collaborative, office-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation scripts and tools for security operations.
• Integrate disparate security tools and platforms to create seamless workflows (e.g., SOAR platforms).
• Automate threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management processes.
• Develop and maintain APIs for security tools to enable programmatic interaction.
• Collaborate with security analysts and engineers to identify automation opportunities.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of automated solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on automation and scripting.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and common security tools.
