Security Officer

Security Officer We are currently recruiting for experienced and professional Security Officers to join a dedicated security team at a busy, high-profile visitor attraction in London. This is a varied role combining security operations, public safety, customer service and emergency response. The successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors, staff, contractors and other site users.

About the Role

Working as part of the on-site security team, you will provide a professional and proactive security service across the premises and associated areas. You will be responsible for monitoring the site, responding to incidents, carrying out patrols and supporting the smooth operation of day-to-day security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining a professional and visible security presence across the site.
• Monitoring CCTV and other security systems from the control room.
• Carrying out regular internal and external security patrols.
• Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies and suspicious activity.
• Supporting evacuation, invacuation and other emergency procedures.
• Managing contractor access, deliveries and permits to work.
• Liaising with Police, emergency services and other relevant agencies when required.
• Supporting operational activities and participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
• Completing accurate incident reports and maintaining security records.
• Assisting members of the public and providing a professional standard of customer service.
• Following site security procedures, health and safety requirements and operational instructions at all times. Essential Skills & Experience The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Previous security experience, preferably within a visitor attraction, museum, exhibition venue or similar customer-facing environment.
• Experience using CCTV and other security systems.
• Good experience of working within a control room.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Experience following procedures and completing written reports.
• A good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive when dealing with incidents or emergencies. Qualifications & Experience
• Current SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV licences - Essential
• First Aid at Work qualification, or willingness to undertake training.
• Experience using access control systems and fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Experience carrying out or contributing to risk assessments. Candidtates must be professional, well presented and able to communicate clearly with the public and other staff members. What the Role Offers

Working Hours The role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern: 7:00pm – 7:00am, 4 on, 4 off On occassion you will be required to cover day shifts - 7.00am to 7.00pm Average working hours are 38.5 hours per week
