Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst - Tier 2

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst - Tier 2 to join their advanced security monitoring team in Leeds . In this role, you will be responsible for the in-depth investigation of security alerts escalated from Tier 1, performing advanced threat analysis, and coordinating response activities. You will play a crucial part in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents to protect the organization's digital infrastructure. This position is ideal for an experienced SOC analyst seeking to deepen their expertise in threat detection and incident management.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze security alerts escalated from Tier 1 SOC analysts , performing deep-dive forensic analysis.
• Identify, assess, and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks, intrusions, and policy violations.
• Utilize advanced security tools and technologies, including SIEM, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms, to detect and analyze threats.
• Develop and refine detection rules , correlation logic, and incident response playbooks.
• Collaborate with incident response teams and other stakeholders to contain and remediate threats.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior SOC analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, with at least 1-2 years in a Tier 2 capacity.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets to identify security threats.
