Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and responsive Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their team in Sheffield . In this role, you will be at the forefront of defending the organization's digital assets by monitoring security alerts, detecting threats, and initiating incident response procedures. You will work with sophisticated security tools and collaborate with various teams to ensure swift and effective handling of security events. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and other security tools 24/7.
• Analyze security events to identify potential threats, breaches, and policy violations.
• Investigate security incidents, document findings, and escalate critical issues according to established procedures.
• Perform initial triage and response actions to contain and mitigate security threats.
• Assist in the development and refinement of SOC playbooks and procedures.
• Contribute to threat intelligence gathering and analysis to enhance detection capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a SOC environment, IT security, or related field.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, network protocols, and common security threats.
• Understanding of incident response methodologies and security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly under pressure.
