SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Secondary SEMH School
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionateSEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school fromSeptember .
This rewarding role involves supporting students throughout the school day, bothwithin the classroom and in other learning environments . You will work with students on a1:1 basis and in small groups , helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs.
- Support students during lessons and around the school throughout the day.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote student engagement.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.
Requirements
- AnEnhanced DBS Certificate for Child Workforce registered on theDBS Update Service , or be willing to apply for one.
- If you need to apply for a DBS through us, the cost can berefunded after 20 days of work .
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people are essential.
