Gillingham £14.73 per hour Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (Enjoy a 3-Day Weekend Every Week!) Temp to Perm Opportunity
Are you hands-on, practical, and looking for a role where you can build your skills and secure a long-term career? Our client, a well-established manufacturing business in Gillingham, is looking for 2 Semi-Skilled Workshop Assistants to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing, assembly, construction, engineering, or workshop experience who enjoys working with tools and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
The Role
As a Semi-Skilled Workshop Assistant, you'll be involved in the assembly and manufacture of bespoke equipment, working as part of a friendly and supportive team.
Your duties will include:
Assembling and fitting fabricated parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools. Using pneumatic and power tools to install and secure components. Following technical drawings and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly. Carrying out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process. Reporting any issues or discrepancies and helping to find practical solutions. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop. Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping at all times.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
Previous workshop, manufacturing, assembly, engineering, or construction experience. Confidence using hand and power tools. The ability to read and interpret technical or manufacturing drawings. A strong work ethic and attention to detail. Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
