SEN 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant Rugby

About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs
• Build a trusting and consistent relationship to support emotional regulation
• Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school policies
• Support access to learning both in and out of the classroom
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN needs
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Ability to build positive relationships quickly
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) desirable but not essential
