Overview
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Chigwell to recruit an enthusiastic SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for their KS1 and KS2 teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a real impact on pupils' progress while working within a committed and friendly staff team.
We encourage applications from experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who are ready for the next challenge and transition into an HLTA role. While a Level 3 qualification is preferred, the school values hands‑on experience and a proactive approach over formal qualifications.

About the role
- Lead a class for half a day when they are short staffed.
- Deliver targeted interventions alongside class teachers.
- Create engaging learning resources to support academic progress.
- Work closely with the SENCo to assist pupils with SEN and EAL needs.
- Set learning targets and provide assessment feedback.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an HLTA or LSA is desirable.
- Strong initiative and the ability to take on responsibility.
- Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning is ideal but not essential.
