SEN Learning Support Assistant - Castle Point, Essex
Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Long-Term Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Castle Point area of Essex from September 2026.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting children with a range of additional needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Implementing individual learning and support strategies
- Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to meet pupils' needs
- Supporting pupils with their emotional and social development
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who is patient, caring, resilient and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable. Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties or complex learning needs would be advantageous.
You may be an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker or someone with relevant transferable experience.
