SEN Teaching Assistant PMLD – Manual Handling & Hoist Trained

Location: Hackney, East London Pay: £110 per day Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, long-term Hours: Monday – Friday

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with manual handling and hoist experience?

We are looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Hackney from September.

The role will involve supporting pupils with complex and profound needs, including assisting with mobility, personal care and access to learning.

The Ideal Candidate

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working within a SEN or specialist school

• Manual handling experience

• Hoist training and practical experience

• Experience providing personal care

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs

• A patient, calm and nurturing approach

• The ability to work as part of a supportive school team

• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
