Job Description
We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Bristol, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher or a mainstream teacher with a strong interest in working within a specialist environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, while creating a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment. You will work closely with support staff and other professionals to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The role would suit a teacher who is confident managing a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD and challenging behaviour, and who can adapt their approach to suit individual pupils.
Key responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs. Support pupils with a range of SEN and complex learning needs. Promote positive behaviour and develop strong relationships with pupils. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals. Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual education plans. Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment. Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN. Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
