Hays Education is partnering with welcoming primary schools across Dorridge, Knowle & Solihull (B93) to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants for. These schools are looking for dependable people who can offer consistent, individual support and help pupils enjoy positive experiences in the classroom.Whether you already have school-based SEN experience or have supported children in another setting, this could be a great next step in a genuinely rewarding career.
Your new role
Building a trusting and consistent relationship with pupils who have additional needs Adapting activities for children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs or other learning needs Using agreed strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour Helping pupils develop independence, communication and confidence Sharing observations and progress with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals Contributing to a calm, safe and inclusive classroomWhat you'll need to succeed
Have supported children or young people with additional needs in a school, care, nursery or community setting Bring patience, empathy and a calm approach to their work Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries Are comfortable following individual support plans and guidance from school staff Want to help every pupil feel included and able to succeed Hold a relevant qualification, although this is desirable rather than essentialWhat you'll get in return
