About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs within a primary school setting in Liverpool . You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to children who require extra help with their learning, behaviour, or physical needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their challenges, receive the support necessary to thrive academically and socially. You will be part of a supportive school community committed to inclusive education in the Merseyside area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering differentiated learning materials and activities.
- Help manage pupil behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support pupils with their personal care needs, as required.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school or SEN setting.
- Understanding of different types of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
