Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant / LSA, you will support students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You may work 1:1 with a student or support small groups, helping them access the curriculum and engage in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with SEN
- Assisting students with their learning, both in and out of the classroom
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies
- Encouraging independence and confidence in students
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- A degree or relevant experience in education, care, or support work
- A genuine interest in SEN and supporting young people
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A proactive, flexible, and resilient approach
