SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated SEN teaching assistant to join a supportive school in Southend. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop independence.

As a SEN teaching assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils access the curriculum and engage positively in school life. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

The Role

Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs. Provide one-to-one and classroom-based support. Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour. Build strong relationships with pupils and staff. Assist with learning and social development. Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to support individual needs.About You:

We are looking for someone who is caring, patient and enthusiastic about working with children. Previous SEN experience is desirable, but transferable experience in childcare, care work, mentoring or youth work will also be considered.

You should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
