Academics are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant - Hemel Hempstead to join a well-established specialist setting working across two sites in the Hemel Hempstead area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual who wants to make a genuine difference to children and young people with additional needs.
You will work closely with teachers and experienced support staff to provide individualised support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant - Hemel Hempstead, your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Working closely with teachers and the wider staff team
Supporting pupils to develop independence and confidence
Contributing to a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Working across two sites in the Hemel Hempstead areaThe Ideal Candidate
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant - Hemel Hempstead will ideally have:
Previous experience working with children or young people
Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
A patient, calm and nurturing approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A willingness to learn and develop their SEN knowledge
The flexibility to work across two sitesFull commitment to the working hours of 8:00am-4:30pm is essential.
