SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD

Location: Bromley, London

Salary: £93 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Start date: 19/10/2026

Hours: Term time, 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

The right support can help an autistic pupil feel more confident about the school day. Transparency Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant in Bromley to make learning, routines and transitions more accessible.

You will work with the class teacher and SENCO, providing one-to-one or small-group support as required. We are looking for someone who notices individual needs and uses consistent strategies without losing sight of each child’s interests and strengths.

Responsibilities

• Use agreed visual prompts and clear language to explain tasks

• Support communication, sensory regulation and transitions

• Break learning into manageable steps and encourage independence

• Help pupils participate in lessons and social activities

• Record observations and follow individual support and safety plans

Requirements

• Experience supporting children with autism is essential

• A calm, patient approach and understanding of sensory and communication needs

• Confidence following individual plans and sharing observations

• Good teamwork; a relevant TA or childcare qualification is desirable

• An enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
