About the Role

Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the ASD Unit within a thriving mainstream secondary school. The role involves supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) across KS3 to KS5.

We're looking for a compassionate and proactive candidate to:

Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) across KS3 to KS5 Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions focused on communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and academic engagement Support the implementation of EHCP targets, individual support plans, and communication strategies Use structured approaches, visual supports, and personalised strategies to meet individual learning needs Encourage positive behaviour and support students in managing transitions throughout the school dayThe ideal candidate will have:

Experience supporting children or young people with Autism and/or Speech and Language needs (desirable but not essential) Strong communication and interpersonal skills An understanding of Autism and the potential barriers students may face within a mainstream secondary setting Knowledge of strategies that support communication, sensory regulation, and social development The ability to adapt support to meet a range of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potentialWhat the School Offers
