Support a Young Person Through Personalised 1:1 Tuition

We're looking for a patient, adaptable, and relationship-focused SEN Tutor to support a young person in Fareham who is currently unable to attend their specialist educational provision.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide face-to-face support while a suitable school placement is being identified. The initial focus of the role will be building trust, engagement, and a positive working relationship, with the aim of gradually increasing educational input over time.

This is an ideal opportunity for a tutor with experience supporting learners with Autism and complex additional needs who understands the importance of working at the young person's pace.

Location: Fareham

Subject: General Tutoring

Hours: Up to 15 hours per week

Schedule: 3-hour sessions, Monday to Friday

Setting: Face-to-face

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience delivering tuition or teaching within an educational setting Experience supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional needs Strong understanding of SEND and personalised learning approaches Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust gradually Patient, calm, and flexible approach Experience supporting learners with communication, sensory, and social-emotional needs is desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally

Who You'll Support

You'll be supporting a young person with:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Developmental Delay Communication and Interaction needs Cognition and Learning needs Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Sensory and Physical needsThe learner has specific sensory sensitivities, particularly to the sounds of other children, and may require a gradual, flexible approach to engagement. Support will initially focus on relationship-building before working towards a longer-term target of 15 hours per week.

A carer will be present during sessions to support behaviour management and any self-care requirements.
