About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Caseworker to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. Working remotely, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with SEND, ensuring that statutory duties are met and positive outcomes are achieved for families.
You will manage a caseload of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, social care colleagues and other stakeholders to coordinate assessments, reviews and annual reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND. Coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and statutory processes. Draft, amend and maintain EHCPs in line with current legislation and statutory timescales. Provide advice, guidance and support to parents, carers, schools and professionals. Organise and attend annual reviews and multi-agency meetings where required. Monitor provision and ensure that agreed support is effectively implemented. Maintain accurate records and case management systems. Work in partnership with education, health and social care colleagues to deliver person-centred outcomes.
About You
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
Experience working within a SEND team, local authority, education setting or related service. Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation. Experience managing EHCPs and statutory assessment processes. Excellent communication, organisational and case management skills. The ability to build effective relationships with families and partner agencies. Strong report writing and administrative skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
Desirable
Previous local authority SEND casework experience. Experience using SEND case management systems such as Synergy, Capita One, EYES or Liquidlogic. Knowledge of tribunal processes and mediation arrangements.
