We’re Hiring: SEND Needs Assessment Plan Writer

Are you an experienced SEND professional with strong knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)?

We are looking for a SEND Needs Assessment Plan Writer to join a dedicated SEND team, managing a caseload and supporting the effective delivery of the statutory assessment process for children and young people.

🔹 The Role

You will:

• Manage and track new SEND Needs Assessments, ensuring information and professional advice is received within statutory timescales

• Write high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) using information from professionals, families and education settings

• Lead co-production meetings with parents/carers, children and young people, schools and other agencies

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to statutory reports

• Work closely with professionals and external services to identify and coordinate appropriate support

• Ensure all work complies with relevant SEND legislation, statutory guidance and procedures

• Represent the SEND service effectively at multi-agency meetings

🔹 About You

We are looking for someone who has:

✅ Experience writing EHCPs

✅ Experience working with children and young people with SEND/disabilities and their families, ideally within a SEND service

✅ Experience working with schools, public-sector organisations or similar settings

✅ Strong knowledge of the SEND legislative framework and EHC assessment pathway

✅ Knowledge of health and social care services supporting children and young people with SEND

✅ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

✅ Strong IT skills and the ability to manage accurate records

✅ The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and remain accurate under pressure

✅ A person-centred approach and strong multi-agency working skills

A Level 3 qualification or equivalent, together with a good standard of written and spoken English, is required.
