SEND Learning Support Assistant

Location: BD22, Bradford
Start: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term with potential for permanent placement

Milk Education is recruiting a compassionate and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in BD22, Bradford .

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience supporting children or young people with complex additional needs and is confident providing personal care . The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning, development, wellbeing and day-to-day needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication, independence and emotional development.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and intimate care, where required .
• Support pupils with complex learning and developmental needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Use appropriate communication, sensory and behavioural strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

About You

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Previous experience providing personal care is essential.
• Caring, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Confident supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Able to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupils consistently.
• Experience with Autism, PMLD, communication needs, sensory needs or complex learning difficulties would be advantageous.
• Available to work full-time from September 2026 .
