Job Description
Are you an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher looking for a full-time role starting immediately?
A welcoming and inclusive 3-form entry Primary School in Smethwick is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team as soon as possible on a full-time basis, initially until July 2027, with the potential for extension.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the school’s SEN hub, supporting Key Stage 1 pupils with a range of needs including Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, and complex learning needs. You will take a lead role in planning and delivering high-quality, tailored learning while working closely with a supportive team of three LSP's.
This role would suit both experienced SEND Teachers and ECTs who have prior experience working with pupils with additional needs and are looking to develop their expertise in a supportive environment.
As a SEND Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons within the SEN hub
- Leading teaching and learning for KS1 pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Creating a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Working closely with three LSPs to support pupil progress and engagement
- Monitoring, assessing, and tracking progress against individual targets
- Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored support strategies
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
- Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals where required
To be successful in this SEND Teacher role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with children with SEND (Autism, Speech and Language, complex needs)
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation
- The ability to lead a small team within a specialist provision
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Working as a SEND Teacher in this role, you will receive:
