The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with PMLD, complex needs, and medical requirements.
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support communication, sensory development, independence, and wellbeing.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical support where required.
- Help deliver personalised learning activities.
- Encourage pupils to engage, explore, and develop new skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team.
- Create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable.
- Personal experience as a parent, carer, or family member of someone with SEND is welcomed.
- A caring, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to understand individual needs.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist SEND environment.
- The ability to work as part of a supportive team.
