Aspire People is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Wednesbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning, development and wellbeing.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils and teaching staff to provide tailored support both in the classroom and, where required, on a 1:1 basis.

You will help pupils to access learning, develop their confidence and independence, and overcome barriers to education.

The role will involve supporting children with a range of additional needs, so patience, resilience and a caring approach are essential.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or young people
• Ideally has experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Is patient, caring and resilient
• Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Is confident supporting learning and individual needs
• Has a positive and proactive attitude
• Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential
• Previous experience in a school or SEND environment is desirable, but transferable experience will also be considered

Placements are subject, to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks.
