Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Complex SEND & Challenging Behaviour

Location: Central Stockport Contract: Full-time, Long-term Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school based in central Stockport. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting a child on a 1:1 basis who has complex SEND requirements and challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate will be confident, patient and resilient, with a strong understanding of how to support children with additional needs and challenging behaviour in a primary school setting.

The Role

Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex SEND and challenging behaviour. Supporting the child with their learning, emotional regulation and engagement throughout the school day. Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to implement appropriate strategies and support. Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working with children in a 1:1 capacity. Experience supporting children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour. Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour management. Confident working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals. Team Teach qualification is highly desirable, although not essential. A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or school-based experience would be advantageous.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about making a positive difference to a child's education and development.
