Job Description
Experienced SENCO - Immediate Start | Barnet, North London
A large, inclusive school in Barnet, North London is seeking an experienced SENCO for an immediate start.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident SEND leader to take responsibility for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of SEND provision across the school.
Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will drive high-quality SEND provision, ensuring pupils with additional needs receive the support, intervention and opportunities they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the school's SEND provision in line with the school SEND Code of Practice. Oversee the identification, assessment and support of pupils with SEND. Develop and maintain high-quality, inclusive provision across the school. Lead on adaptive teaching, staff training and professional development. Support provision for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs. Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, carers and external agencies. Maintain accurate SEND records, policies and statutory documentation. Monitor pupil progress and ensure interventions are effective. Support safeguarding and the needs of vulnerable pupils. Manage SEND resources and contribute to school improvement priorities.The school is looking for a knowledgeable, proactive and passionate SENCO with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of successfully managing SEND within a large school environment.
