Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive and personalized academic advising to a diverse caseload of students, addressing academic progress, course selection, and degree planning.
- Assist students in understanding academic policies, procedures, and program requirements, ensuring compliance and informed decision-making.
- Offer guidance on career development, postgraduate study options, and the exploration of academic and extracurricular opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty members and support services to address student needs and facilitate referrals for specialized assistance.
- Develop and deliver workshops and resources on topics such as study skills, time management, and career exploration.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, utilizing advising software and CRM systems effectively.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in academic advising or a similar student support role within a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of academic policies, curriculum structures, and student development theories.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using student information systems and advising software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload of students, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
