Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Oxford . This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting the financial controller. You will be involved in various accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end close, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile bank statements and various accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or actively pursuing one.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
