About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Derby . This role is integral to managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the financial health of the organization. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing general ledger functions, and contributing to audit processes. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
