About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Brighton . This role is integral to managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting financial reporting processes. You will take a leading role in month-end and year-end close procedures, prepare financial statements, and contribute to audit activities. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
