About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and contributing to strategic financial planning. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other departments to provide critical financial insights and support business growth. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP .
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax requirements.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
Requirements
- ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role , preferably within a commercial environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and tax legislation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with financial controls and process improvement.
