Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance department, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting financial reporting processes. You will be involved in a wide range of accounting activities, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, and supporting audits. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to work flexibly while contributing significantly to the financial operations of a reputable firm in the banking and finance sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and regulatory filings.
• Support external auditors during financial statement audits.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar accounting role, preferably within a financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
