About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Aerospace Quality Assurance Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Sunderland . This critical role is responsible for upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the aerospace manufacturing process. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems, ensuring all products meet stringent industry specifications and customer requirements. This position is based at our Sunderland site, offering a stable and challenging environment for professionals passionate about aerospace quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality procedures, regulations, and customer specifications.
- Investigate non-conformities, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and track their effectiveness.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for process improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to embed quality principles into all operational activities.
- Train and mentor staff on quality assurance best practices and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the aerospace or a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and auditing techniques.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality control tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and leadership skills.
