Senior AI Ethicist

About the Role

Our client, a leader in AI and Emerging Technologies, is looking for a highly experienced Senior AI Ethicist to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the responsible and ethical development and deployment of artificial intelligence systems. You will guide the company's approach to AI ethics, developing frameworks, policies, and best practices to address bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI. Your work will be crucial in building trust and ensuring that our client's AI innovations align with societal values and regulatory standards, operating entirely in a remote-first capacity from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics frameworks, policies, and guidelines.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for new AI projects and products.
• Provide expert advice and training to engineering and product teams on ethical AI principles and practices.
• Monitor evolving AI ethics regulations and standards globally and ensure compliance.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops on AI ethics challenges and solutions.
• Advocate for responsible AI development and deployment across the organization.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong focus on AI ethics.
• Significant professional experience (5+ years) in AI ethics, responsible AI, or technology policy.
• Deep understanding of ethical challenges in AI, including bias, fairness, privacy, and transparency.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and development lifecycles.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed, remote team environment.
