Senior AI Platform Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior AI Platform Engineer to join their distributed team, building and scaling the infrastructure that powers their AI and machine learning initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and reliable AI platforms and MLOps pipelines. This role is crucial for enabling data scientists and ML engineers to develop, train, and deploy models efficiently and effectively. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in architectural decisions, technical leadership, and mentoring junior engineers, all within a fully remote working environment across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable AI/ML infrastructure and MLOps pipelines.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD systems for machine learning models.
• Implement and manage cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP AI Platform).
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of ML services.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand their infrastructure needs.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the AI platform.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on infrastructure and MLOps.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Solid understanding of machine learning workflows and common ML libraries.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for ML models.
