About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Reading . This role is essential for the design, development, integration, and testing of complex electrical power and distribution systems for state-of-the-art aircraft. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate aircraft electrical power systems, including generation, distribution, and protection components.
- Perform detailed analysis of electrical system performance, load calculations, and fault tolerance studies using specialized software.
- Define system requirements, specifications, and interface control documents (ICDs) for electrical systems.
- Develop and execute rigorous testing and validation plans for electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with aerospace standards .
- Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g., avionics, structures, propulsion) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical system issues encountered during development, testing, and production phases.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in aircraft electrical systems engineering.
- Proven expertise in aircraft electrical system design, power generation (AC/DC), distribution, and protection.
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-704, ARINC 600) and aerospace certification requirements.
- Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, PSCAD).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and experience leading technical teams.
