Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of major airframe structures, including fuselage, wings, empennage, and control surfaces.
- Perform conceptual and detailed design work using CAD software, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with performance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with stress, aerodynamics, systems, and manufacturing engineers to integrate various design elements.
- Contribute to the creation and review of aerospace design documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Support structural analysis and testing activities, providing design feedback and solutions.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant regulatory requirements and airworthiness standards (e.g., EASA, FAA).
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on airframe design principles and practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in airframe design within the aerospace sector .
- Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, Unigraphics).
- Strong understanding of aircraft structures, materials, manufacturing processes, and aerodynamics .
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Knowledge of aerospace certification requirements and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
