Senior Analytical Chemist - Pharmaceutical Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to join their pharmaceutical development team in Bradford . This role is essential for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of their pharmaceutical products through rigorous analytical testing and method development. You will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of analytical techniques, regulatory requirements, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality within a busy laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods for drug substances and products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine quality control testing and stability studies according to ICH guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and optimize analytical methods to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Prepare and review analytical reports, validation protocols, and regulatory submission documents.
• Train and mentor junior analytical chemists and laboratory technicians.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong expertise in chromatography (HPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry.
• Proficiency in using various analytical instruments and laboratory software (e.g., LIMS, Empower).
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA) for pharmaceutical development.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
