About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their dedicated R&D laboratory in Belfast . This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of their diverse product portfolio through rigorous analytical testing. You will lead method development, validation, and routine analysis using a range of sophisticated instrumentation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of analytical chemistry principles and a commitment to maintaining the highest scientific standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
- Perform routine analysis, interpret results, and troubleshoot instrumentation issues to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Contribute to stability studies and investigate out-of-specification results.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, ISO).
- Train and mentor junior analytical chemists, overseeing their technical development and laboratory practices.
- Author and review analytical method validation reports, technical reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- MSc or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within a pharmaceutical or chemical industry setting.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, and potentially ICP-MS or LC-MS.
- Strong understanding of method validation principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH guidelines).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical data clearly.
