Senior Analytical Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their Quality Control and Research department in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and consistency of our client's products through rigorous analytical testing and method development. You will utilize advanced analytical instrumentation and techniques to support product development, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards. This position requires a meticulous and skilled chemist dedicated to scientific accuracy and analytical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Investigate and resolve analytical discrepancies and out-of-specification results.
• Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analytical chemists.
• Prepare and review analytical documentation, including method validation reports and SOPs.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related science.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Expertise with a wide range of analytical instrumentation and techniques.
• Strong understanding of analytical method validation principles (ICH guidelines).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using LIMS software.
