About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Analytical Development Scientist with a specialization in High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to join their team in Norwich . You will lead the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods crucial for the characterization and quality control of pharmaceutical products and intermediates. This senior role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior scientists. Your work will be fundamental in ensuring the quality and regulatory compliance of our client's pharmaceutical portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and validation of analytical methods, primarily using HPLC and related techniques.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing analytical methods to improve robustness, sensitivity, and efficiency.
- Develop and implement analytical strategies for new drug candidates and formulations.
- Transfer validated analytical methods to Quality Control (QC) laboratories and manufacturing sites.
- Author and review method validation reports, analytical development protocols, and specifications.
- Stay current with new technologies and advancements in analytical chemistry.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical development within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with various HPLC systems (e.g., UPLC, LC-MS) and associated software.
- In-depth knowledge of method validation principles (ICH guidelines) and regulatory expectations.
- Experience with other analytical techniques (e.g., GC, KF, UV-Vis) is a plus.
- Excellent technical writing skills and strong communication and leadership abilities.
