About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Analytical Development Scientist to lead critical analytical development activities in Nottingham . This role is essential for creating and refining analytical methods to characterize novel drug candidates and ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle. You will provide scientific leadership, troubleshoot complex analytical challenges, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and transfer robust analytical methods for the characterization of small molecules and biologics (e.g., HPLC, GC, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy).
- Perform method development and optimization studies, ensuring specificity, accuracy, precision, and robustness.
- Characterize drug substance and drug product using a variety of analytical techniques.
- Investigate and resolve analytical issues encountered during method development and routine testing.
- Author method validation protocols, reports, and regulatory submission documents.
- Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance on analytical challenges.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in analytical method development and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with key analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC/UPLC, MS, UV-Vis, FTIR).
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA) related to analytical validation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous approach to data analysis and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
